The hydro generator is a device that converts the rotating mechanical energy of a hydro-turbine into electrical energy through a main shaft connected to the hydro-turbine runner. two different mount for generator of vertical and horizontal which could be operated at brushless excitation and thyristor excitation. the hydro generator has usually used air as medium to cool its stator, rotor winding and iron core.
